It’s no secret, I’ve got weddings on the brain – so in order to get some of my ideas together, I created this DIY wedding inspiration board loaded with DIY elements I’d like to incorporate into our wedding. I hope you find some inspiration for your own wedding!
1 – Unique Guest Book Alternatives – I love the idea of having your guests write messages and then take a polaroid of themselves instead of a traditional guest book. I’m not quite sure if this is exactly what I would do, but I love the uniqueness of it – AND it would super fun to turn this into a scrapbook afterwards! (always thinking ahead
2 – Burlap/Neutrals – (couldn’t find source) – I would love to incorporate burlap and neutral colours into the wedding somehow. I have a few DIY ideas up my sleeve…
3 – Crates – I’ve seen a few crate ideas floating around on Pinterest and I think I might have the perfect idea for making one and incorporating it in our wedding.
4 – Tealights – I want LOTS of them on the tables!
5 – Flowers – I love the idea of just having a few simple flowers in jars – I think it’s really pretty and easier to talk to other people at the table instead of trying to talk over huge flower arrangements!
6 – Calligraphy – I’ve been slowly learning calligraphy through my class on Skillshare – it’s really hard, but slowly (very slowly), but surely it’s coming together. I’m hoping to be able to really hone down my skills closer to the wedding and use it in different places.
7) Lighting – Some strings of lights + paper lanterns = perfection.
8) Card Holder – I love the idea of having a non-traditional card holder at the sign-in table – this basket is such a cute and simple DIY piece, I love it.
I can’t wait to share all of my projects with you (post-wedding of course!) We have a while to go, but it’s going to go by fast. Check out my wedding boards on Pinterest (there are PLENTY) for more DIY wedding inspiration!
What are some DIY elements you’ve incorporated/are incorporating into YOUR wedding? I’d love to hear them – I’m always looking for new ideas. Link them up in the comments below!
